families with young children aged 0 - 4 years. This provides a range of childcare
and early years educational services, plus advice and support mechanisms for
parents as well as community education opportunities.
Early Years Childcare Services
The Centre has OFSTED registration for both sessional and extended daycare
which currently includes
- term-time morning pre-school playgroup
- full-day care crèche provision
- sessional crèche provision, some which is provided specifically to
encourage and support parents/carers to attend classes, courses, workshops and
events at the Centre
- an adventure soft-room drop-in session on Tuesday and Thursday mornings for
parents/carers and children to play together
- 2-3 week summer playscheme
In addition, the centre is funded through the local SureStart Kilburn

in various aspects of parenting skills and advice on early years child development.

Basic Objective of Early Years Childcare Services
Sidings Community Centre aims to provide a range of high quality integrated
childcare services for children aged 0-4 years, which will foster and nurture
the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of all children
attending those services. This will be done within a child-centred ethos in partnership
with parents/carers and other key partners (eg Sure Start). Our services will
operate within the guidelines of the Children Act 1989 and the National Daycare
Standards 2000 as determined by OFSTED. |

Adventure Soft Room
Sidings Adventure Soft Room runs during term time on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 10:00 to 11:30.
Bouncy castle, soft play equipment and baby corner. Planty of room to run around and let off steam. Ideal for children first starting to crawl/walk etc. and to encourage physical development while playing alongside their peers. This is often Parents', Carers' and children's first introduction to the centre which we find helps the children immensely when attending other centre services and/or activities. Also an opportunity for parent/carers to meet and socialise with new and old aquaintances.
Suitable for all under fives and their parents or carers. Good introduction to social/independent play. |
